2012 Trip Photos II

People from the olden days carrying turf and milk back home.
Somehow, three of them are dressed more modernly.

Returning from grocery shopping.
You have to pay for bags, so once we had
exhausted our ability to stuff into backpacks,
we carried the rest by hand.

Map of the viking archeological find.

Annika standing outside the barn.

Annika and Danielle standing outside the house.
Kongaminni.  Memorial to a Danish king.

My new favorite gym.  It has a stepper, elliptical,
sit up bench, balance stools, etc.  It works the entire body,
but looks like a playground.  In fact, there were 4 kids playing
here when we got there.

Sigmundur Brestisson.

The exercises that you can do on the equipment above.

The teacher's college, where Abbi worked.

Omma and Abbi's grave.  Like I said, they have not yet had
the opportunity to add Omma to the grave stone.

The river Sanda.

Sorensen's Store, now an art gallery.

both duplexes: the front was Asa and us, the back was
Brynhyld and Tota.  Only Brynhild still lives there.  Only
Mamma and Daddy are still married.

Flovin Mammubeiggji's Library.  The top shelf
continues fully around the room.  Take notes, Bret.

A frequent toast combination at Flovins house.
They always chase it with pop.  I like that tradition.

The harbor in Skopun, Sandoy.

The view back on Koltur on Teistur, the ferry to Sandur.

The ferry to Skuvoy, Sildberin.

A monument to Sigmundur Brestisson.

The Sigmundur Stone, marking his grave.

The view of the church in Skuvoy
from the road to the harbor.

Our 4th of July dinner.
